Cross-country skiing

Galtür is a paradise for cross-country skiers. Here at a height of 1600 m there are 74 km of prepared tracks, with a certainty of snow cover from the beginning of December until April, offering ideal conditions for a cross-country warm up at the start of the season, or a final season bash. The quality of the snow at this altitude is better than in the valley, and that is something that the Tyrolean Langlauf instructors are aware of; they do their training in Galtür. You will be able to enjoy the fabulous mountain scenery and pure nature on our high altitude tracks to the Silvretta reservoir or to the Zeinisjoch. Immerse yourself in our wonderful mountain environment. Access into the cross-country ski tracks is just 50 m behind our hotel. The ski/hiking path to the Bielerhöhe is a fabulous Nordic experience. The hours of this high altitude track is demanding, but thanks to the wonderful views of the mountains and the snow-covered landscape, your efforts are quickly forgotten. The track ends at the Piz Buin Berggasthof on the sunny Bielerhöhe (2040 m). There is an adjoining 4.5 km track leading around the frozen Silvretta reservoir, taking you even closer to the mountain range. If you want to really enjoy the high altitude sun on the pass, you can make the most of the tranquility here to admire the highest peak of the Silvretta region.
