Winter walking

There are more than 60 km of winter walking paths in the beautiful landscape around Galtür, giving you an feeling of being immersed in pure nature, and enabling you to experience the mountains and valleys around Galtür without skis too. The prepared Winter walking paths runs alongside the cross-country skiing tracks. The demanding stretch to the Bielerhöhe, 2040 m above sea level, is the highlight. After a little something to eat, you can catch a lift with a piste basher back to Galtür.

Horse-drawn sleigh rides

During the day and in the early evening you can take fabulous trips around Galtür by horse-drawn sleigh. The silence of winter is broken only by the ringing of the little bells worn by the horses, and by the tales about the sights of Galtür told by the sleigh driver. You can book horse-drawn sleigh riedes for individuals, couples, families, and laso for groups.

Barrel stave racing!

In these races, barrel staves, the curved pieces of wood used for making barrels, are used instead of skis. They are attached t the shoe with leather or nowadays with plastic straps. The weekly barrel stave race is a highlight in Galtür and guarantees fun and entertainment for the whole family.

Iceskating

You can go skating right in the centre of Galtür whether you fancy doing laps or pirouettes! The ice rink in the middle of the village is a hit for both guests and locals. It is open every Monday, Thursday, and Frieday and skates can be hired.

The bathing lake in the centre of See also turns into a great ice rink in winter. It offers an area of 6000 m² and is perfect for good ice skaters as well as aspiring ones; you can practise your turns an the largest ice rink in the Paznauntal area, surrounded by a breathtaking mountain landscape.

Paragliding and hang gliding
